It&#8217;s the idea that certain activities can make your brain better.<\/p>\n<p>These activities can involve everything from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.magneticmemorymethod.com\/neurobics\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">neurobics<\/a> to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.magneticmemorymethod.com\/brain-games\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">brain games<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.magneticmemorymethod.com\/memory-games\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">memory games<\/a>. Using your mind is a wonderful thing to do.<\/p>\n<p>However, self-deception is a problem. People wind up spending a lot of time on activities that don&#8217;t actually do much for them.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/e5hougg55fx.exactdn.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/stress-how-to-improve-memory.jpg?strip=all&lossy=1&quality=60&w=2560&ssl=1\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-20643\" src=\"https:\/\/e5hougg55fx.exactdn.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/stress-how-to-improve-memory.jpg?strip=all&lossy=1&quality=60&ssl=1\" alt=\"A stressed man pinches the bridge of his nose. These terms mean that although you might become more skilled in the environment of an online brain training game, the skills won&#8217;t transfer to real life.<\/p>\n<p>Unlike using memory techniques discovered by people like myself and memory expert Lynne Kelly who wrote <a href=\"https:\/\/www.magneticmemorymethod.com\/memory-craft\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Memory Craft<\/a>, most cognitive training apps do little or nothing to combat <a href=\"https:\/\/www.magneticmemorymethod.com\/alzheimers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Alzheimer&#8217;s<\/a> or dementia.<\/p>\n<p>That said, there are some legit activities you can pursue. Let&#8217;s take a look.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\">5 Science-Based Mental Exercises That Boost Brain Power<\/h2>\n<p>As we go through this list, start thinking about how you can incorporate one or two of these activities into your daily life.<\/p>\n<p>Remember: It&#8217;s consistency that matters. It just simply isn&#8217;t &#8220;training&#8221; without at least 3-4 sessions per week.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>One: Play Challenging Games<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>No, I&#8217;m not talking about <a href=\"https:\/\/www.magneticmemorymethod.com\/crossword-puzzles\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">crossword puzzles<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Why?<\/p>\n<p>Because they let you cheat. It&#8217;s way too easy to look up the answers.<\/p>\n<p>You need games that push you a little, such as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.magneticmemorymethod.com\/brain-exercises\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">these memory exercises<\/a> you can play with on your own.<\/p>\n<p>Other challenging games include live-action role-playing games. Sometimes I host <em>Memory Detective<\/em>, for example.<\/p>\n<p>To make sure this game involves lots of memory exercise, I wrote a novel tie-in called <a href=\"https:\/\/www.magneticmemorymethod.com\/fb-sq\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Flyboy<\/em><\/a>.
